On October 7, 2015 the Innovation Conference & Showcase hosted by Houston Technology Center (HTC), where technology, modern business, and creativity converge, was held at the Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown. To date, this is the largest gathering of Texas Gulf coast entrepreneurs, innovators and technologists that happens each year. The mission of the conference was simple, yet powerful: “Be Innovative. Be Inspired. Be Successful.” and was accomplished by bringing together a myriad of innovative minds with four speakers who can articulate by successful example about how to think outside the box.
Walter Ulrich, President & CEO of Houston Technology Center welcomed the group, and shared some powerful statements sprinkled throughout the conference:
“Houston might be known for a great many things, but ‘tech’ usually doesn’t top the list, yet!”
“Houston isn’t always recognized as a global hub of technology and innovation, and it should be.” Mr. Ulrich believes that in ten years, “Houston will be better known as an innovation capital.” Source (video and quotes): Newsfix
An hour later, Alie Ward, Correspondent for CBS series “Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation” inspired the group about Motivation Beyond Innovation. Then, Brian Meece, CEO, Rockethub touched on the various ways how Crowdfunding Fuels “Big Change”.
Following the main conference program, attendees were able to see and touch technologies, along with being able to converse with the brilliant minds behind these innovative high-tech products and services. The exhibition hall featured a variety of high-tech startups in information technology, life sciences, energy, nanotechnology and aerospace industries.
It was a wonderful day and way to connect with a diverse group of entrepreneurs, technologists, business leaders, industry executives, investors, and innovation experts.
But the day didn’t end there. A large group of inspired and motivated attendees headed over to The Commonor for the IC&S After Party co-hosted by Platform It to continue the conversation while creating new connections and forming collaborative efforts.
